Alan Howarth has worked as composer or sound designer on some of the biggest box-office hits of the last 30 years. His credits include POLTERGEIST, RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, TOTAL RECALL, STARGATE, ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, Coppola’s DRACULA, the HALLOWEEN film series and the STAR TREK film series. Howarth’s latest projects take him in a number of new directions requiring new creative tools such as the Fairlight system.

“We’re working on several different types of productions with traditional surround as well as special-venue multi-dimensional Sound Array Systems.” explained Howarth. “The Fairlight is the only system that provides an elegant panning and monitoring solution for all of these formats. It’s the fastest, most comprehensive audio editor I’ve ever seen, handles video files better than most video editing systems, is affordable and remarkably easy to operate. I had heard about Fairlight before but until I really looked at the system over at Hollywood Sound (Systems), I didn’t realize how well it solved all the traditional DAW-oriented problems. It’s really amazing. The Fairlight Xynergi continues to excite me the deeper I get into it, with virtually no latency even with loads of processing. The secret is their Crystal Core PCI card.”

“Hollywood Sound Systems has been holding Fairlight demonstrations nearly non-stop since May,” commented Hollywood Sound president, Les Harrison. “We’re offering the system for audio post-production and live recording; it fits both of these applications remarkably well. Our demonstrations have never failed to elicit a ‘wow’ from the most jaded of attendees and many quickly realize that they can use this technology to save time, frustration  & money. It really is that much better than the status quo.”
