Seattle, WA – Despite poor weather conditions, an enthusiastic crowd of 55 attendees made last night’s Avid / Blue Microphones event at Seattle’s Pacific Pro Audio a resounding success. Audio Agent’s Eric Boyer opened with the story of Blue Microphones and a detailed review of the products on display. Blue’s SPARK handled the evening’s live demo duties and all were impressed with the performance of the brand’s newest professional mic.

Avid’s Nick Shilling, Dave Casey and Luke Smith were on hand to demonstrate and discuss the new Pro Tools® 9 paired with Pro Tools|HD Native. The crowd was highly receptive, participating in a long Q&A session covering both brands following the presentations.

Pacific Pro Audio’s Garth Hedin exclaimed, “This was a great event. We want everyone to know that we are solidly behind these terrific brands and have good inventory, ready to go – so give us a call or drop by soon!” When asked for his comments on the event, Pacific Pro’s Brian Cornfield replied, “You gonna eat that last cookie?”

The BURL B80 Mothership

Santa Cruz, CA, February 27, 2011—Burl Audio is proud to announce that the first project through its much-anticipated B80 Mothership was a recent Jimi Hendrix mix done at Hyde Street’s Studio A in San Francisco, CA. Spearheaded by the Hendrix family, John McDermott, and Eddie Kramer, a reissue of a yet-to-be-disclosed famous Hendrix recording was transferred from original 1″ 8-track tape into 8 channels of Mothership BAD4 A/D converters, and then mixed out through 16 channels of the Mothership’s BDA8 DAC. Complimenting the Mothership was Hyde Street’s custom-modified, Class-A discrete Neve 8048.

Stay tuned for this electrifying release as it is not only a monumental performance, but also greatly exemplifies the vast “musical” improvement of the B80 Mothership over existing AD/DA designs. Jimi Hendrix’s music has been a huge influence on the people of Burl Audio, so this is quite an honor.
