About The SUB 212

Blue Sky’s SUB 212 is a sealed box, dual 12”, push-pull, 400-Watt subwoofer. It features an anechoic frequency response of 25Hz to 200Hz, +/-3dB. The SUB 212’s unique “push-pull” configuration is designed not only to increase output, but also to reduce distortion. A push-pull subwoofer uses two drivers: one mounted facing forward, the second mounted backward with the magnet facing out. Utilizing two drivers doubles the maximum output, while the push pull configuration reduces even harmonic distortion. Typically, in a more conventional design, at high output levels, second harmonic distortion dominates the distortion spectrum of most subwoofer drivers and is caused by asymmetric operation of the suspension and magnetic structure. In simple terms; the output of the driver is slightly different when the cone is moving away from the magnet, as compared to when it is moving toward its magnet.

Push-pull operation reduces this even harmonic distortion in a clever application of physics. As mentioned before, push-pull uses two drivers, one reversed from the other. The bottom driver has its magnet facing out of the box and is driven electrically out–of–phase from the front driver, which keeps both drivers acoustically in phase. However, when the front driver’s cone is moving away from its magnet, the bottom driver’s (reversed) cone is moving towards its magnet. This puts the even harmonic distortion components of the bottom driver out-of-phase with the front driver. When you combined the outputs of both drivers, the even harmonic distortion of both drivers cancels, reducing the overall distortion of the subwoofer.

Los Angeles, CA (October 5, 2009) – BAE (formerly Brent Averill Enterprises) have announced the release of the 8CM, an eight channel mixer to house 10-Series modules mic/line preamp modules such as the famous 1073, 1084, 1023 and 1004.

Traditional Audio Manufacturer Releases Another Twist on Vintage Design

July 17, 2009 – Audio Agent client, BAE (Brent Averill Enterprises) proudly introduce the new, improved 1272 and 1272A Stereo Mic Preamplifiers. Having previously manufactured a 1272 module attached to a 19″ faceplate and wire harness, the Southern California manufacturer is now to building the hand-wired preamps in enclosed chassis.

“The benefit of this new design is that it provides more real estate on which to place additional  features,” commented BAE President, Mark Loughman. “The four buttons on the faceplate signify, 48v phantom power, phase reverse, direct line input and selectable mic input impedance of 1200 and 300 ohms.”

According to Loughman, “the few audio engineers who have tested this new mic pre (with new gain stage by Avedis Audio) so far have said they, ‘can’t tell the sonic difference between the new 1272 and a 1073 without eq’. As we use the same Carnhill / St Ives input and output transformers, it’s true that we can get pretty close.”

The 1272A goes one step further - it has all the qualities of the 1272 but with one significant difference; BAE incorporated the inductor-based high pass filter (as in the 1073) providing two channels of Class A mic pre/filter in a 1U chassis.

February 18, 2009 - Audio Agent LLC, representatives for Antelope Audio, are pleased to announce the installation of Antelope 10M Rubidium Atomic Clocks, TRINITY HD Master Clocks and OCX-V Video Enabled Master Clocks at the widely heralded Universal Mastering Studios in both New York and Los Angeles. January 27, 2009 - Audio Agent LLC, US representatives for BAE (Brent Averill Enterprises), are pleased to announce the release of the BAE 1023 Mic Pre / EQ module and the corresponding 2CR rack housing. These products, which are based on classic British designs, expand the scope but remain true to the sound and functionality of the originals.

“The 1023 is an enhanced version of the 1073-type mic pre,“ explained BAE President, Mark Loughman. “For this new module, we’ve added significantly more frequency selections to the mid and high sections.”

January 27, 2009 - Audio Agent, BAE (Brent Averill Enterprises) and Korby Audio Technologies hosted a packed, post-NAMM soiree during the recent Winter NAMM exhibition in Anaheim, CA. Friends and associates from a number of pro-audio sales organizations, studio engineers and artists spent the evening enjoying the festivities while celebrating newly released product from both BAE and Korby. Fun was had by all. Violence was kept to the bare minimum.

November 25, 2008 - Audio Agent LLC is pleased to announce the addition of Pepper Denny as the company’s Regional Sales Manager for the Southern US. November 24, 2008 - Audio Agent LLC has been appointed by Brauner Microphone’s distributor, Network Pro Marketing, as the brand’s sales representatives for the New York Tri-state area, California and Nevada. Audio Agent, which focuses on the high-end of the professional audio market, will support and expand Brauner’s dealer network in these key territories.

October 16, 2008 - Audio Agent LLC has been has been appointed the exclusive representatives for Mojave Audio in the Northeast United States. The premium studio microphone brand, which was originally created in 1985 by David Royer, was re-launched in 2005 to bring Royer’s innovative condenser microphone designs to market. Audio Agent is the first independent representative to be engaged by the company.

Mojave Audio President, Dusty Wakeman, commented, “Audio Agent has already proven themselves with our sister company, Royer Labs. October 14, 2008 - Audio Agent LLC, west coast representatives for Blue Sky International, are pleased to announce Key Code Media’s installation of identical Sky System One 5.1 surround monitoring systems in both audio mixing studios at the American Film Institute’s (AFI) Sony Digital Arts Center. The speaker systems will be the primary audio monitors used for student film projects at the legendary Hollywood film school.

April 22, 2008 - Audio Agent LLC is pleased to announce the appointment of industry veteran Tom Menrath as Vice President of Brand Management. The former director of Business Development for Guitar Center, Menrath will provide Audio Agent’s new and existing clients with proven national sales and marketing management expertise.
